PRESIDENT

Daphne Macfarlan
president@stpetesunsetrotary.org

Daphne MacfarlanMy name is Daphne Macfarlan and I am thrilled to be a part of our Sunset Rotary Club! I have been involved with Rotary for the past few years, and in 2008 I was lucky enough to be selected to participate in Rotary’s Group Study Exchange Program. With 3 fellow teammates and a wonderful Rotarian Team Leader, I got to travel throughout the Caribbean for 1 month learning about the mission and family of Rotary. It was truly an incredible experience and inspired me to become part of this club and take on the role of our second President ever. I do hope you’ll come join us and check out our club!

I am a graduate of Eckerd College with a degree in Environmental Studies-Policy and Marine Science. Today, I work for the federal government as part of the Department of Commerce. I work for the NOAA Restoration Center and work with communities in Florida and in the Caribbean to restore, conserve and protect our coastal resources.

VICE PRESIDENT

Hunter Zager
hunterzager@yahoo.com

My name is Hunter Zager, and I was the Charter President of this new and innovative Rotary Club of St. Pete Sunset. I first became involved with Rotary in 2002, when I traveled to New Zealand on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. In my year there, I not only received a degree from the University of Auckland in Public Health, but also fell in love with Rotary. I gained so many opportunities and experiences through my involvement with my host Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Ellerslie Sunrise, and host district. After returning to the U.S., I began assisting with the Rotary Scholars Seminar, an annual pre-departure orientation seminar for outbound Rotary Scholars from the southeast US and Caribbean, which I now help coordinate each June. I am excited to share the world of Rotary with others in St. Pete and am especially eager to reach out to other young professionals.

I graduated from Eckerd College with a B.S. in Biology, from the University of Auckland with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health, and from USF with a Masters in Public Health. Currently, I work for the Florida Department of Health as the Regional Emergency Response Advisor for the eight-county Tampa Bay Region, and help keep our health and medical community prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.

I am a charter member of this club, but am very new to rotary.  The foundation chair is my first officer position within rotary and will simultaneously be the president elect for the upcoming rotary year.   I currently work for MetLife Home loans as a senior mortgage consultant.   My goal as foundation chair is to increase our clubs awareness and participation in supporting of this cog in the rotary wheel.

SECRETARY

Erin Fisher
secretary@stpetesunsetrotary.org
I am an account manager with Thomas Financial, a boutique financial services firm founded in 1975.  In this role, I work with firm partners to create tailored solutions focusing on estate planning for the ultra-affluent, business continuity, and executive benefits planning.  I currently serve on the Club’s Membership and Administration committees.  As the incoming Club Secretary, one of my goals for this new year would be to integrate public Club records with the Club’s website.

TREASURER

Tobin Robeck
treasurer@stpetesunsetrotary.org

Tobin RobeckI am proud to be the Treasurer of the Sunset Club. A charter member of this new club, I am also a former member of the Suncoast club in South Pasadena. I believe in Rotary’s value of Service Above Self and am involved in the organization, not only for the camaraderie, but also because I feel that helping our community grow is the key to its long-term success. I enjoy being part of a club that is very active and prides itself on digging in and volunteering for projects around Pinellas County, such as building houses for Habitat for Humanity or cleaning the local beaches, rather than simply writing checks. We believe in the power of service and the impact it has on our community.

As a Vice President for Regions Bank, I am engaged in the community through helping small businesses thrive. I meet weekly with small business customers as an advisor on cash-flow management, help them find ways to grow their business and, in turn, grow our community. I believe strongly in the “work hard, play hard” philosophy. I am passionate about boating, hockey and traveling. I have traveled to 38 countries, play ice hockey twice a week and my wife Laurie and I do our best to take the boat down to the Keys at least twice a year.

SERGEANT AT ARMS

Michael Knettel, Jr.
sergeant@stpetesunsetrotary.org

Michael Knettel, Jr.I am fairly new to Rotary and am the newly appointed Sergeant at Arms. I joined Rotary because of its history and reputation of being involved with local and global charities and fundraisers. I believe strongly that we should all do our part to help make our world a better place by starting locally and reaching globally.

Just a little about me. I work in the construction industry as a Project Manager. I was born and raised in Saint Petersburg. I have two amazing children and try every day to make sure they know how special they are to me. I love sports of all kinds (especially the Florida Gators), camping, volunteering, traveling, music and movies of all genres, and spending time with friends.

When it comes to being a member of this club, I find myself to be blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people who share my core values and caring spirit. I feel as if we are not just a club but a family. I look forward to the coming year and serving my club and community.

Tami ShadduckMy name is Tami Shadduck and I am a second year Board Member. In 2008, I was invited by the East Lake Sunrise Club to guest speak about my job as a Sexual Health Educator with Planned Parenthood. After hearing that I had just returned from hiking the Inca Trail and that I was a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, the President of the club invited me to apply for the Group Study Exchange Program. Long story short, in the spring of 2009, I spent a month in the Philippines with a fantastic group of people. It was an incredible experience to see Rotary Clubs do so much for their communities, and when I returned home, I knew I had to be a part of Rotary. I am very excited to be a part of the St. Petersburg Sunset Rotary Club.

I graduated with a B.S in Psychology from Eckerd College and Master’s in Public Health Education from USF. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, reading, and making pottery.
