SPCA 3K Pet Walk
On October 15th, the Sunset Club and their pets headed out to South Straub Park to walk 1.8 miles to help raise money to rescue, rehab and re-home homeless and abused animals in our community! Proceeds went to benefit SPCA Tampa Bay.
Red Bull Flugtag
Stay Classy Tampa Bay, the Sunset Club’s flugtag team participated in the Red Bull Flugtag event (in front of 100,000+ people!). The club worked hard at constructing the Mustache Flyer, and raising money to support Movember, a campaign that raises vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The team took flight on October 8th, 2011 ~ earning the team 11th place out of 38!

Beach Day at Pass-a-Grille
The crew hung out for some fun in the sun on a gorgeous September Sunday at Pass-a-Grille. Friends, families and fellow Rotarians were encouraged to join us, and a great time was had by all…until the rain came!
Red Mesa Cantina Sunset Social
We had a signature yellow cup social at one of our favorite downtown spots, Red Mesa Cantina. It was a chance for relaxed fellowship with members and friends old and new, and Cantina’s great drinks and tasty food.

Installation Dinner
The Installation Dinner was an intimate affair that gave us had chance to look back and remember all of the hard work and good times that brought us to where we are today, and to celebrate all of the friendships we have built along the way! We honored the outgoing officers and chairs, and welcomed incoming leadership to their new roles. Several members were recognized for extraordinary service and support of the club, and lots of pins, medals and awards were presented. Thanks to the St. Pete Yacht Club for hosting us, and to the distinguished District guests who joined us. Looking forward to a new year with lots of new and exciting things to come!
Relay for Life
The Sunset Club put together a team for the Relay for Life event at Progress Energy Stadium on May 13th, 2011. Team Peanuts raised almost $3000 for the American Cancer Society, put together some great onsite fundraisers, won the Most Team Spirit award at the event, and definitely made our mark in the fight against cancer!

Rock-n-Roll Swap Meet
The Sunset Club was at the Rock-n-Roll Swat Meet at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club serving beer and wine at the event with all proceeds supporting our Relay for Life team, The Peanuts Gang. It was a fun event with five bands on two stages, free shuffleboard and over two dozen vendors selling everything from art to music to clothing to collectibles and most everything in between.
Tweed Ride & Seersucker Shuffle
The Sunset Club was invited by our friends at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club to help out with their Tweed Ride & Seersucker Shuffle. We had a great time on a leisurely bike ride through beautiful downtown St Petersburg. After the ride, folks gathered at the St Petersburg Shuffleboard Club for a ripping party featuring food, libations (served by our club!) and dancing to the swinging sounds of Lounge Cat.
Sunset Social – Crowley’s
Sunset Club had our January signature Sunset Social at Crowley’s Downtown. A Sunset Social is a chance to unwind after a long week and get to know our club members! We enjoyed $2.50 house drafts and house wines with our yellow Sunset Social cups, and sold several new cups at the social!
Sunset Social – Midtown Sundries
Our December signature Sunset Social was at Midtown Sundries. We got $1 off all drinks with our yellow Sunset Social cups, and got to unwind a little bit after all the holiday bustling!
Holiday Fun at Shuffle
We had some holiday fun and fellowship at St. Pete Shuffle! Free shuffleboard from 7-11pm. Local singer-songwriter JB Kerns Center Court Stage for a set of original, cover and Christmas music. And the Sunset Club and St Pete Shuffle raised some funds by buying some adult beverages, hot cider and hot chocolate!
Turkey Day Fun at Shuffle
The club had post-Thanksgiving fun and fellowship at St. Pete Shuffle! We worked off some of those holiday calories playing free shuffleboard, swapped turkey day stories and sports scores with the crew, and raised some funds by buying some adult beverages!
Party in the Parks
The Sunset Club had a great time selling gourmet lollipops and Superbowl raffle tickets at Party in the Parks this weekend. We made a little money for the club and got a chance to show the community who we are and what we are all about. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a sweet treat or just to say hello!
Charter Night
September 16th, 2010
Charter Night was a fun and meaningful evening for our club, celebrating the milestone of becoming an officially chartered Rotary club. The event was held at the St. Petersburg Women’s Club, and, thanks to our amazing Special Events Diva, everything turned out great! Our guests were also asked to bring non-perishable food items to the event, all of which was then donated to our friends over at Alpha House of Pinellas County. The club had a blast spending time with our fellow Rotarians, who traveled from near and far to be a part of our special night. Our sincerest gratitude to everyone who came out. We were so touched by your welcoming sentiments and generous gifts. Thank you!!
Bake Sale & Ice Cream Social

The Sunset Club put on a Bake Sale & Ice Cream Social at St Pete Shuffle to benefit the ventilator project! There was a great turnout and everyone had a blast playing some shuffleboard, having a sweet treat for a great cause, and listening to the music of Rebekah Pulley.

Fun and Fellowship at the St. Pete Shuffle Club

The Provisional Rotary Club of St. Petersburg Sunset hosted our first fellowship event! We invited our families, friends and anyone interested in getting to know our club to join usfor an evening of fun, fellowship and shuffleboard. We had a great turnout and lots of fun was had by all.

The Great Gatsby was a fundraising event that benefitted our Rotary Club and Heels to Heal, an organization of Women Healing Women and Children. It is a 1920′s themed cocktail event. Food. Drinks. Mystery Bottle Auction. Raffles. The event was held at Gatsby’s Reatuarant at 340 Beach Drive North in St. Petersburg.
