We’re Almost Official!

July 15th, 2010
This movie requires Flash Player 9

It was an exciting night at Midtown Sundries in St. Petersburg tonight. The Sunset Club, and it’s 22 official members, are happy and proud to announce that we signed all the paperwork and submitted our application for charter! We hope to hear word from Rotary International in the coming weeks that we can nix the “Provisional” from our name and call ourselves OFFICIAL!

As we await word from RI, we are busy planning our Charter Night Event for September 16th. We hope our fellow Rotarians, friends and family will all join us for the big event. So keep an eye on the site for more event details and online tickets!

An Afternoon at Sally’s Cafe

July 13th, 2010

salarmy-logoMark your calendars for our upcoming service project at the Salvation Army Cafe. The Cafe is a safe and dry place for those in need in our community to go on Sundays to get out of the elements, relax, and spend an afternoon in the company of others. Our club will be going to The Cafe to hang out and chat, maybe play some games or listen to music, and just be there for some of St. Pete’s homeless, who may need someone to listen, talk or laugh with them. Gail, our wonderful contact at the Salvation Army, told our members, “I have found that the homeless respond best to people like you — people from the community who think they are worth listening to, spending time with, and encouraging.” We look forward to stepping up and making some new friends.

Please join us for an afternoon at Sally’s Cafe.

Date: Sunday, August 22nd
Time: 1230pm – 3pm
Where: 340 14th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

For more information, please contact our Service Projects Coordinator at serviceprojects@stpetesunsetrotary.org.
